Upcoming Union Dues Survey

RE: Upcoming Union Dues Survey

April 8, 2021

Dear Members,

We will be conducting a survey via Survey Monkey regarding Union Dues. Last year before the pandemic, a dues increase was on the General Meeting Agenda. This discussion now needs to be addressed. A survey with options will be sent out for membership input before any vote is scheduled.

Only members that have subscribed to receive union updates and bulletins will receive the survey link. If you have not already subscribed, please do so now subscribe here. If you have any questions, please address them to your unit VP.

Thank you.

Shireen Clark

President, CUPE Local 374

Dear Members,

Happy New Year everyone! As we settle into another year, we are adapting to a new way of doing business. Until we are able to meet again in person, all meetings will be held via zoom. Votes that were held in December for 6 of the units had notifications sent to work email addresses. This was a one-time occasion to be able to contact as many members as possible in a short time span.

Going forward, all union bulletins, links and voting information will be sent through the sign-up portal online. If you haven’t already subscribed, please subscribe at www.cupe374.ca.

We have scheduled 4 General Meetings for the year. They will all be on Wednesday evenings starting at 7pm. You can register in advance by clicking on the links below or visiting our website. Reminders will be sent out closer to the meeting date. Agendas and any information for the meeting will be emailed out the day of the meeting or sooner for members to have and view along during the meeting.

April 17th Bulletin

Dear Members,

I hope you are all doing well, staying healthy and finding a way to enjoy the sun and outdoors safely.

While there is nothing new to report regarding workplaces at this time, we would like to let you know what the Union has been working on for our members.

  • Updating website to enable membership sign up lists with email confirmations sent.
  • Researching electronic voting systems that have been approved by national to hold required elections (bargaining committees).
  • Researching online forums for future general meetings and unit meetings.
  • Researching ways to conduct regular business in a new normal.
  • Staying on top of changing rules that directly affect any of our members.

I am not sure anything will ever be the same, so we have to make changes and adapt to a new way of living going forward. If you or a family member is having a challenging time through this, please be reminded of the resources available.

Employee and family assistance programs are available for members at all of our municipalities:
