Quarter 3 Sponsorship Update

LOCAL 374 GENERAL MEMBER BULLETIN

Dear Members,

We are now accepting applications for the Quarter 3 Sponsorship Award until Friday, September 4, 2026. The draw date will be September 9th.

Application Form

3 sponsorships awarded quarterly at $500, $300, and $200 each

The sponsorship provides funds to cover expenses outside of normal
registration fees and personal equipment costs. For example, supporting
travel for tournaments, performances, uniforms and team equipment.

To qualify, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a CUPE 374 member or dependent (spouse, common-law spouse,
    children, step-children, and anyone defined as a dependent).
  • You must be able to provide proof of association within a recognized
    sport, arts or cultural organization that requires sponsorship or
    fundraising as part of the activity before funds will be disbursed.
  • You have not already received a sponsorship award in the current
    calendar year.

General Membership Update

MEMBERSHIP UPDATE

July 23, 2026

Hi everyone,

It has been a busy year with multiple bargaining tables underway, and I want to provide an update on what’s happening now and what to expect this Fall.

1. Annual General Meeting – Wednesday, November 4th

We are canvassing members on their preference for an in‑person or online meeting format. Please take a moment to complete the short survey below:

2. Recording Secretary – Election (3‑Year Term)

This November, the Recording Secretary position will be open for election. We extend our appreciation to Rachel for her excellent work over the past term. She has moved on to a new role outside the Local, and we wish her all the best.

3. Trustee Election – 1 Position (3‑Year Term) One Trustee position is up for election this Fall.

Current trustees are:

  • Debbie Liske (Esquimalt) – term ending
  • Nicki Kathler (Colwood) – 2 years remaining
  • Lauran Mattussi (Sooke) – 1 year remaining

4. Preparing for Sooke Bargaining

The Sooke collective agreement expires December 31, 2026. Preparatory work will begin this Fall, including member engagement, issue identification, and initial planning.

5. September – 3rd Sponsorship Award

The third Sponsorship Award will be issued in September. More details will be shared closer to the date.
